Immunizations

Immunizations, or vaccines, are an important part of your healthcare.  The recommendations change yearly as new vaccines are developed and older ones are modified.  Although you receive most of your vaccines by age four, there are several you receive later in life that are just as important.  Among these are the tetanus booster you get every 10 years, the pneumonia vaccine you get after age 65 (or before if you have a chronic disease) and the yearly flu vaccine.  The newest vaccine that was developed is meant to prevent cervical cancer.  It is currently effective against 70% of the viruses that cause it.  It is a series of three shots, and recommended beginning at age 9.
